Synonyms: | TOR, TARGET OF RAPAMYCIN | |
Background: |
TOR proteins belong to the family of phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase related kinases and are targets of the antiproliferative drug rapamycin. AtTOR binds the yeast FKBP12 protein in the presence of Rapamycin, is involved in embryogenesis and is expressed in embryos, endosperm and meristems. Participates in negatively modulating ethylene signals and the molecular mechanism is likely involved in the regulation of ethylene biosynthesis by affecting ACSs in transcription and protein levels. |
